Fully synthetic lifetime greases based on calcium sulphonate complex thickener technology
Lifetime lubrication means that a lubricant is used in components where, generally, no subsequent lubrication is carried out during their entire lifetime. Applications that require lifetime lubrication have particular demands: the lubricants must work at highly varied temperatures and ensure lubrication during the entire life cycle. This is why we use fully synthetic base oils in combination with calcium-sulfonate-complex-thickener technology. The interaction of both components enables low friction coefficients in tribological contact, which, in turn, reduces wear and enormously increases service life.
Effectively reduce grease consumption
No matter whether the focus is on extending the service life, achieving higher speeds or increasing temperature and friction torque resistance – the TUNGREASE CP range has the right solution for every application. However, the ecological aspect always remains the same: a considerable reduction in the use of lubricating grease, which results in a massive reduction in used grease that has to be disposed of.
These high-performance lubricants have other considerable benefits and do much more than conventional mineral oil-based lubricating greases. They extend the service life and can prolong the life of lubricated components, which, in turn, means considerably longer maintenance intervals. This reduces waste, saves energy and increases workplace safety. They have proved themselves in the lubrication of electric bike gears shown below.
Energy savings through reduced friction coefficient
In addition to recuperation, reducing friction, particularly in the area of mobility, is a key element to improve energy efficiency. The focus of friction reduction potentials is lubrication technology, especially low-viscosity base oils and/or lubricants with a high viscosity index in combination with surface topography and the appropriate grease thickener structure. Electric drive trains do not require engine oil, but they do need specific lubricants, such as lubricating grease for the anti-friction bearings and gears.
This is exactly where TUNGREASE CP-2 / 25 can take full effect. Reducing frictional resistance in the entire drive train is a key task for future mobility and, as such, is independent of the chosen drive technology. In addition, all the energy that is saved by reducing friction increases the range without the need for increased battery capacity.
Health and safety at work
As in many other areas of our lives, legal regulations have increased considerably: in the past, lubricant manufacturers developed and produced their products, using a variety of raw materials to achieve maximum performance. These days, many regulations have to be observed, which, on the one hand, place severe restrictions on the choice of chemicals and chemical suppliers and, on the other hand, require additional highly-qualified experts to fulfil the legal provisions.
Performance is just one of the criteria. To take account of this, calcium-sulfonate-complex greases based on synthetic base oils fulfil the requirements for food lubricants in accordance with NSF standard H1 and are thus safe for humans from a toxicological aspect. This certifies their future use in the food industry and makes an important contribution towards occupational safety and ease of use for end customers due to the fact that they do not require labelling.
TUNAP uses this technology universally and for many different industries, underscoring the focus of its product strategy which is aimed at health and user friendliness.
